1. Forbidden &Hated by ALLAH Narrated Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah Radiyallahu Anh: The Prophet PBUH said, "Allah has forbidden for you: (1) To be undutiful to your mothers, (2) to bury your daughters alive, (3) not to pay the rights of the others (e.g. Zakat, charity) and (4) to beg of men (i.e. begging). And Allah has hated for you; (1) Sinful and useless talk like backbiting or that you talk too much about others, (2) to ask too many questions, (in disputed religious matters) and (3) to waste the wealth (by extravagance with lack of wisdom and thinking). (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.3 Hadith No.591) ------------------ 2. He who beats up his slave has to emancipate him Abu Mas'ud Al-Ansari Radiyallahu Anh narrated: Once I was beating a slave of mine when I heard a voice from behind saying: You should know Abu Mas'ud, Allah is more capable upon you than you on him." I looked and saw he was the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). I said: "O Messenger of Allah, he is free for the sake of Allah." Then the Prophet (PBUH) said: "If you have not done that, Fire would have scorched you (or: touched you)." (Summarized Sahih Muslim, Vol.1, Hadith No.900) 3. Severe warnings against accusing a slave of fornication Abu Hurairah Radiyallahu Anh narrated: Abul-Qasim, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "He who accuses a slave of fornication, will be punished on the Day of Resurrection unless his accusation is true." (Bukhari 6858) (Summarized Sahih Muslim, Vol.1, Hadith No.903). 4. Being kind to slaves and giving them good clothes and food Ma'rur bin Suwaid reported: We passed by Abu Dhar in Ar-Rabadhah, and he was wearing a Burdah (garment) and his slave was wearing the same, so we said (to Abu Dhar), "If you take this (burdah of your slave) and wear it (along with yours) you will have a nice (costume.)" Abu Dhar said. There was a quarrel between me and another man whose mother was a non-Arab, and I called her bad names. The man complained about me to the Prophet PBUH. The Prophet PBUH said: "You still have the traces of the Ignorance." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, he who abuses men, they abuse his parents." He said: "You still have traces of the Ignorance. They are your brothers whom Allah places under your authority. Therefore, feed them from what you eat and give them to wear of what you wear, and do not overburden them, and if you charge them with such chores, help them." (Bukhari 6050) (Summarized Sahih Muslim, Vol.1, Hadith No.904) --------

Verse 1: O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa' (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women; and fear Allah through Whom you demand (your mutual rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allah is Ever an All-Watcher over you. Verse 2: And give to the orphans their property and do not exchange (your) bad things for (their) good ones; and devour not their substance (by adding it) to your substance. Surely, this is a great sin. Verse 3: And if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with the orphan-girls, then marry (other) women of your choice, two or three, or four; but if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one or (the slaves) that your right hands possess. That is nearer to prevent you from doing injustice. Verse 4: And give to the women (whom you marry) their Mahr (obligatory bridal-money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage) with a good heart; but if they, of their own good pleasure, remit any part of it to you, take it, and enjoy it without fear of any harm (as Allah has made it lawful). Verse 5: And give not to the foolish your property which Allah has made a means of support for you, but feed and clothe them therewith, and speak to them workds of kindness and justice. Verse 6: And try the orphans (as regards their intelligence) until they reach the age of marriage; if then you find sound judgement in them, release their property to them, but consume it not wastefully and hastily, fearing that they should grow up, and whoever (amongst guardians) is rich, he should take no wages, but if he is poor, let him have for himself what is just and reasonable (according to his labour). And when you release their property to them, take witness in their presence; and Allah is All-Sufficient in taking account. Verse 7: There is a share for men and a share for women from what is left by parents and those nearest related, whether the property be small or large - a legal share. Verse 8: And when the relatives and the orphans and Al-Masakin (the needy) are present at the time of division, give them out of the property, and speak to them words of kindness and justice. Verse 9: And let those (executors and guardians) have the same fear in their minds as they would have for their own, if they had left weak offspring behind. So let them fear Allah and speak right words. Verse 10: Verily, those who unjustly eat up the property of orphans, they eat up only fire into their bellies, and they will be burnt in the blazing Fire! ---------
